Issue No. 44 Our spring issue features knits that play with opacity, texture, and colourwork, layering techniques, tones, and transparency - sometimes all at once!
Embracing varying intensities of colour and focusing on the transitional layers of spring, we have put together a collection of 9 stunning patterns that are inspired by the practice of layering images.
Musing on printing and making reminded us that knitting and crochet are the original 3D printing; engineering layers of stitches together to bring 2D instruction into its final form.

Issue 46 Collaborating with creatives we admire is one of the great joys of making Pom Pom. Candice English of The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers has been an inspiration to us for a long time, both as a dyer and as an advocate for Indigenous women. We are thrilled to welcome Candice as Guest Editor for this issue.
The patterns in this issue are a representation of hard and soft duality in the American West. The hard work embedded in the people of Montana is a result of the softness you find in the spirit of indigenous homelands. You will find classic designs that can be worn in utilitarian ways but also jazzed up a bit for social outings.

Issue 47 Pom Pom has always been a celebration of colour in knit and crochet form and this issue is no different. We love colour so much that often we try and get as much of it into each piece as we can, but for this monochrome-themed issue we wanted to see what could be done with fabrics that used more subtle tonal differences within a single hue, or closely related ones.
In this issue, our designers played with depth, saturation, and brightness; maximum impact with minimum contrast.

Issue 48
It is with bittersweet pride that we present the 48th and final issue of Pom Pom Quarterly. The title of this edition, Check Mate, has many meanings to us at this time, but most importantly, it marks the end of a wonderful journey. This knitted and crocheted ode to wovens includes patterns we believe any maker will be proud to create. With two needles or a hook, these designs were inspired by the beauty of weaving and pay a special tribute to this ancient sister craft.
